On August 18, Southwestern Michigan College (SMC) and Western Michigan University (WMU) solidified their partnership by signing articulation agreements focused on psychology and social sciences. The agreements were officially endorsed by Dr. Melissa Kennedy, the Academic Dean of SMC's School of Health, Natural and Social Sciences.
These new agreements aim to create a streamlined pathway for students pursuing degrees in these fields, enhancing academic collaboration between the two institutions. By facilitating the transfer of credits, the agreements will allow students to transition more smoothly from SMC to WMU, ultimately promoting educational advancement and career opportunities in psychology and social sciences.
Both institutions expressed enthusiasm about the potential benefits these agreements will bring to students, faculty, and the broader community. As higher education continues to evolve, such partnerships are crucial in addressing the needs of students and preparing them for successful careers in their chosen disciplines.
